Every year since the inception of The PHIRM, we have selected a charity to support by making a donation. Our first charity was Camp Bright Feathers which caters to children infected and or affected by/with HIV/AIDS. (http://www.campbrightfeathers.com/history/). Another year we donated to a non-profit organization called The COLOURS Organization, COLOURS was established in 1991, by and for LGBT People of Color with a major focus of building community among LGBT people of color and fighting HIV disease in communities of color. COLOURS’ work has been recognized as innovative by many around the country including the Harvard AIDS Research Institute.
This year we are raising money for the scholarship fund of Philadelphia Black Gay Pride. Philadelphia Black Gay Pride's "LBGTQ Youth Scholarship" was established in 2011 to help encourage and support Philadelphia's LBGTQ youth of color in their goal to obtain college level and/or trade school education. The Tuition scholarship is awarded in the amount of $1,000 to youth between the ages 17-24 accepted or currently attending an accredited college or qualified trade school.
